I discovered a new source today for online fabric shopping-the site is Fabric Tales. They have many different cotton patterned fabric with a japanese theme as well as some cute non japanesey patterns. I like this one above to use for a shade to go with my birdie lamp . Ideally the pattern would be slightly subtler but so far this is the closest to what I have been looking for. Unfortunately it is currently out of stock. I also liked the fabric below-I could see it being used for a large pendant lampshade hanging in a sushi restaurant.
